The American Le Mans
Series is the world's leading championship for sports cars. It was
started three years ago by entrepreneur and Motorsport enthusiast Don
Panoz to mirror the rules of the classic Le Mans 24 Hours endurance
race. As a result, the series hosts a wide variety of different cars
ranging from open top prototypes, like the Audi R8 and Panoz Roadster,
to cars closely based on production machinery, such as the BMW M3 and
Porsche 911.
